The Toolkit for improving your good on you rating.

This toolkit is intended as a guide for small start-up fashion brands seeking to improve their sustainability rating on Good on You and understand the certification landscape. The toolkit was a project outcome from the second year of my degree. Through it I was able to understand the certification landscape myself as well as the ins and outs of Good on You which is a platform providing sustainability ratings for cosmetic and fashion brands (Good on You, n.d.). Good on You’s rating system is based off three key factors; Planet, People and Animals. Within this toolkit I focused on changes that brands could make to improve their rating regarding Planet. Planet, in Good on You’s rating system is divided up into resource use and waste, climate change, chemicals, water and citizenship. The toolkit is directed at resource use and waste, focusing in on the factors; Circularity, Packaging and Materials. I provide case studies of small start-up brands acting in alignment with Good on You’s rating system as well as recommendations on materials, products, suppliers, certifications etc.
